Valentine's Day at Disneyland!

So the title explains it all, but I will still write about it!! :) This year my baby sister got the opportunity to perform at Disneyland with her dance company! So naturally being the proud big sister that I am, I just had to join my parents and her group for this once in a life time fun!! But the downside to this trip was Justin couldn't be there with me. Which was really hard, not just because I hate not spending time with him, but because Valentines Days is such a huge holiday for us. You see 5 years ago on February 13th my amazing husband asked me to marry him. Yes I know it's a cliché to get engaged in February but hey we don't care! So needless to say I was pretty sad when I realized that we wouldn't be together for this day of LOVE! But we made the most of the trip! The first day there we had to get our picture taken by the True Love heart made out of flowers! So neat! I have such cute parents :)

Since my husband couldn't be with me, I guess receiving a Valentine from a Prince would have to do, although he wasn't my prince :) Princess Tiana  and Prince Naveen were nice enough to let me be 5 again and take a picture with them and my dad, and they gave us a Valentine! How sweet! Okay so I am sure as you're looking at the picture you probably wondering why my mom is so sad about the "it's a small world" ride. Well that is her absolute favorite ride ever! And this trip "sadly" it's closed haha. We have this fond memory of when I was a senior in High School we had my Choir tour and sehior trip here well my mom and sister Emily took me on that ride one too many time and so now I am not that into the "it's a small world" ride after all.

The next photo is of this amazing balloon guy who worked at the IHOP he makes all kinds of Disney Balloon characters its nuts!! So when my dad saw his talent we wanted him to make one for Emily, originally we were going to have him to Alice from Alice in Wonderland. But my mom decided on Tinker bell which turned out adorable!

The dance performance was on Friday afternoon at the big Thunder Ranch Theatre. We arrived early so that we could get a great seat up front, and that way we could record and take pictures. While we waited there were schools that came from all over to perform music and we enjoyed listening while we waited for Emily's dance group. Okay so proud sister moment! Isn't see just gorgeous! She is the brunette that is pretty much in the dead center because lets face it, she's too good for the back row!! Sorry had to brag there for a sec.  All in all this was a fantastic trip to Disneyland, this truly is one of "the Happiest Places on Earth" So glad I got to be there with my family!

Night Sledding

Okay, so I love sledding and I have been bugging Justin since December to go. But since we well I don't snow board, we don't own any boots. Yes I know you can just wear jeans and tennis shoes, but if you know me that doesn't fly. I hate hate hate having wet feet and jeans. Anyway, one night Justin and Will decided to plan a date night for Ali and I. Cute yes we know, we have THE BEST HUSBANDS!! So we ate dinner at Will and Ali's which was amazing, we had ribs and salad, and homemade bread! YUM! Then after that Will told Ali to come upstairs with him to help him get the activity we were doing. Well little did I know that she was really changing into her snow suit and boots, so while they were upstairs Justin pulled out our stuff and told me to get ready. I was trying to figure out where and what we were going to do. well we got dressed and I borrowed some boots from Ali and off we went. After a few minuets of listening to the sleds bump around in the trunk Ali and I started to catch on to what was going on. But of course we didn't want to ruin it for the guys so we played along like we were clueless :) Yes we are sooooo good at that! Well we pulled up to the hill and pulled out the sleds and off we went down the slick, steep hill. It was so much fun!! But I think that my favorite memory is will always be when Ali and I totally crashed into each other! We were racing and all of a sudden I was right behind her and nothing I did stopped us from crashing. Ya, we scared the crap out of the boys. We hit so hard that we were just laying there but we were both laughing so hard that we couldn't breath. My amazing husband jumped on his sled and got down to us in a split second. After figuring out that everyone was okay, we headed up the hill. Needless to say Ali had a nice bruise on her leg where I hit her, and my back was sore for the next 2 days. All in all I think it was well worth it! Thanks Justin and Will for an evening I am sure Ali and I will always remember! Love ya!

New Years Eve

I know that I am late on posting this, but I just got my blog up and running. Well we had a crazy New Years  Eve with our good friends Will and Ali, we got together and watched a few funny youtube videos and we were going to have a mustache party since those are in right now, but due to snow and lack of planning on our part we didn't have the party. But don't worry Justin got my old mascara tube and drew himself an awesome mustache. Lol, sad to say he was the only one who went out that night with it on. We decided to go and see a movie called "Jack Reacher" instead of staying home (which is what happens most years) The movie was good and we had a blast hanging out and ringing in the New Year with great friends :) HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

Almond Family

My name is Melissa and I am married to my wonderful husband Justin, we have been married for 4 years, about to celebrate our 5 year this May. Wow! Haha time sure has flown, I started a blog when we first got married but never got around to updating it. So we'll see how this one goes. We met in Nampa, Idaho at our singles ward, where Justin "bribed" me with chocolate to sit next to him in Sunday school and later that day asked me if he could get my number "so that if a group got together for a movie later, he could call to invite me" haha that is the truth.I guess most would say we have the typical "Mormon relationship" we dated for 3 months, he proposed to me in February of 2008 and we were married 3 months after that on May 15, 2008 :) And we have been happy ever since! Justin is attending school at ISU and is planning to apply to the Pharmacy program here in February, I work full time at a daycare and enjoy working with kids. We have no children of our own yet but hope that day will be soon!
This is us in a nut shell, we love being silly!
