Lexi Anne: Last Day of Preschool

Lexi girl, I can’t believe this school year is over for you! You have learned and grown so much in this year! You can recognize your letters and only mix up a few here and there. You know how to spell and write your first name and you have made so many cute new friends I can’t wait to see what this next year brings for you this fall! 

Today your dad and I attended your closing program and it was so cute. Mrs. Karissa taught you all some fun songs and you knew them all! You are quite the little performer and a cute one at that! Mrs. Karissa also wrote in your memory book that “you’re darling, and a joy to be around!” Of course I am biased but she is right! You’re such a sweetheart and we couldn’t be more proud of the beautiful girl you are, inside and out! 

We sure love you little girl, keep learning and growing, always remember you can do hard things!

Hailey Jane: 9 Months

Hailey girl how can you already be nine months old? We sure have been enjoying watching you learn and grow daily, but I wish time would slow down a little! 

This month we celebrated your first Easter with aunt Emily, uncle Logan and uncle Brady! We had so much fun decorating eggs, celebrating birthdays for Emi, Logan and Brady and making memories as a family! We also got to watch general conference and make a yummy Easter ham dinner with everyone! 

Later this month we had grandma and grandpa Pope visit with Emily and Logan, I sure love having a bigger place to have more family gatherings! 

We had to put up our baby gate this month because you are rolling EVERYWHERE!! You haven’t shown much interest in crawling so you roll to get you to where you want to be. You cut your first two teeth this month and have the cutest little smile!! You’ve stopped having baby food solids and now will only eat table food, it’s your favorite! This month we tried mashed potatoes, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese and a few pieces of avocado. 

You and Lexi both had your check ups this month and you weigh 15.5 lbs and are 26 inches. Still our tiny girls but overall the doctor thinks you are doing great!! We have you in nine month clothes and you’re still in size three diapers, if it’s possible I think your hair is getting more and more red each day!! We sure love you tiny girl!! 

Hailey Jane: 8 Months

Eight months Hailey girl, where has all the time been going? We have had a crazy month, you got your first ear infection which has messed with your mood, sleep and eating habits. But still we find you smiling and laughing at your favorite entertainment (Lexi). Your grandparents came for a visit from Utah, we enjoyed having them stay with us! It’s officially Spring here, we have had some nice warm days where we played out in the sun and we’ve had some cold rainy/snowy days too. 

Because of your ear infection/dr. visit we were able to weigh you and you weigh 15 lbs. 4oz. You’re wearing size 6-9 month clothing but we’re moving you more towards 9 months. Still in size 3 diapers and finally rolling all on your own!! You roll from back to belly and belly to back, the other day i saw you roll from one spot in the living room to closer to your sister haha. You now like to sleep on your belly at night and still wake up for one night feeding with 2 naps during the day. You’re “talking” more and more and love to say dadda!  Still no teeth but we still adore your gummy smiles!

Hailey Jane: 7 Months

Seven months baby girl, how? That is so crazy to me. I seriously have a love hate relationship with you growing up. While it’s hard knowing you won’t stay a baby forever, it’s so fun watching you learn and grow daily! 

We’ve been working more with you on tummy time, rolling and sitting up. You’re very close to being able to sit on your own, you like your high chair and bumbo but you do not like to sit up in shopping carts. Tummy time and rolling still aren’t your favorite but you can roll from belly to back and lately have been rocking from your back to one side, so slowly but surely we’ll get there. 

This month you went on your first road trip with mommy and daddy to Saint George Utah. We sadly didn’t get any pictures but you did pretty good both on the drive and sleeping in a new place. Daddy went golfing with some friends and the girls all went and did some shopping! 

You have become more and more aware of meal times, you’ve also started to eat more solids than last month. You like apple sauce, sweet potatoes, bananas, tiny orange pieces, sometimes carrots, peas and green beans. But I think the fruits are your favorites. I introduced you to baby snacks like yogurt melts and banana flavored puffs and you also seem to enjoy those too. 

We didn’t have any doctor appointments this month but you go in for a booster flu shot in March so we’ll check your weight then. You’re out of size 2 diapers and now wear 3’s. You’ve also grown out of 3-6 month clothes and are wearing 6-9 months and no longer use your sleep sack at night, such a big girl!

Lexi Anne: 4 Years Old

Lexi you are 4 years old today, you have been waiting for your birthday since Christmas and it’s finally here!! Everyday you’ve been waking up asking “is it my birthday?” Or you will tell me “mom, look I am getting bigger and bigger!” Oh how we love you!! 

This year because you love Toy Story so much I decided to do a Toy Story theme for your decorations. I have to say I am pretty pleased with how it all came together. Most of the stuff we had at home and I really only had to buy a couple things, you were so excited when I hung it all up. This year we also decided to do a small party at your favorite trampoline place, Geronimos! You invited 9 friends, you all got to jump for an hour, eat pizza, cupcakes and ice cream and really just enjoy being with your friends! 

Mommy and Daddy wanted to get you a big girl bike so we took you to Fred Meyers and we let you pick a bike, helmet and some knee and elbow pads. Since it’s winter and we have had a lot of snow this week we took you in the basement to practice riding, you’re doing pretty good already!! 

Your favorite color is pink, you love doughnuts, all things music related right now and Toy Story! You’ve  been working really hard doing chores to earn prizes and the only thing you’ve been asking for lately is a harmonica, lucky for you grandpa and grandma almond were able to get you a fun music set that had that and a lot more to tide you over for a long time. (we hope) :) You’re still loving preschool and your teacher says you’re very animated. (I can only imagine haha)  You are such a kind, smart girl and loving sister, we’re so blessed to have you in our family!

Hailey Jane: 6 Months

Happy half Birthday Hailey Jane! What a crazy month we’ve had, my family came at the beginning of the month to celebrate our Christmas. We had so much fun playing games, decorating sugar cookies, eating way too much food and enjoying each other’s company. The week after they left sadly we all (well minus you, Lexi and your dad) got the virus. It was not a fun 10 days in quarantine, but we survived. 

You continue to be our happy smiley girl! This month you have started more solid foods. We had already introduced you to rice cereal and then before Christmas we started oatmeal cereal. We added applesauce, bananas and green beans to the list. So far the green beans are the only food you seem unsure about right now. You are such a light to our family, we adore your smiles and laughs and you adore watching your big sister. She is your biggest entertainment haha. 

You are wearing size 3-6 month clothing (mostly 6 months), size 2 diapers but we might be close to going up a size. We had your check up this morning and you weigh 14 lbs 2 oz and you’re 24 3/4 inches. You can roll from your belly to your back but you prefer to just lay on your back. You aren’t quite sitting up all on your own yet but you’re very close. You’ve been blowing raspberries and you love to suck in your 3 fingers. You typically have 1 maybe 2 feedings in the am with about 3-4 naps in the day. We love watching you learn and grow each day.

Christmas 2020

Wow! What a crazy month it has been, on December 1st I gave the girls their Christmas pajamas, I seriously love that they are matching! Later that week Lexi wrote her first letter to Santa Clause and she was so excited to go mail it! We used our Church’s Light the World calendar to help spread some Christmas light to those around us, it was so fun having Lexi help this year!

Lexi had her first preschool virtual Christmas program, it was so cute! We made a gingerbread house with Justin’s parents, I hosted my first party at our new home, visited Santa at Cabelas and we ate way to many amazing holiday treats this month!

 With Covid-19 a lot of our normal Christmas traditions had to be postponed and we had to make new ones. Normally we would spend Christmas Eve with Justin’s extended family but after grandmas passing this year and the virus everyone decided to celebrate at their own homes. Even though I missed seeing everyone, it was kind of nice to have a more “relaxed” Christmas this year! 

On Christmas Eve we went to Justin’s parents and had a yummy ham dinner, played some fun games, Justin’s mom made the kids the cutest piñata and the kids did a live nativity, it was so cute! Lexi and Dillon played Mary and Joseph, she made a very cute Mary! Hailey enjoyed watching all the kids play and was such a happy baby all night! 

Christmas morning was a hit! Lexi asked Santa for a Jessie doll, bullseye and slinky from toy story. She was so excited to show Justin and I as she had gotten up to use the potty and went out and checked the tree before we all woke up! Haha. The excitement of Christmas through a child’s eyes is the best! Hailey wasn’t quite sure what to think about Christmas morning. Haha, she was given a unicorn that plays peek a boo and her face was priceless. But she was still our smiley happy girl despite the crazy. 

Christmas evening was spent at Matt and Hillary’s house and we had Italian food it was amazing! The kids had so much fun playing with their new toys and with each other. The adults enjoyed each other’s company and played games, we ate so much good food this weekend I was almost sick! 

Despite the crazy year 2020 has been, it still brought some amazing miracles. Obviously our sweet Hailey was the highlight of our year, but I think a close second was the quality family time we got to have together as our everyday normals were turned upside down. We look forward to 2021 and hope for more sense of normalcy and more joy as a family! We wish you all a Merry Christmas and here’s to a hope filled new year!!
