October Recap

 09.30.21 

It’s that time of year again! The Halloween decorations are up and I am so excited for all this month has in store for celebrating! Tonight we had our Halloween kick off early because we have a busy weekend with family.

This morning  our friendly spider spooky came back for a visit. You cute girls got cute new pajamas and we made a candy haunted house.  Tonight we visited the Pocatello temple open house with some of Justin’s family. We met up early for pizza and then enjoyed ice cream afterwards. The temple is so beautiful!

We went on one annual pumpkin patch visit today with our favorite ladies! This year was packed with people and a little chillier than last year, but we made the most of it and had so much fun!

We were able to attend the temple open house again but this time with my side of the family. Brady sadly got sick this weekend and wasn’t able to come but he was able to come a few weeks later. Justin and Hailey werent feeling well so they also missed out. It was fun to share this with my family as well!

We got our first snow fall of the season today, Lexi was so excited and Hailey was indifferent about it haha! Lexi and I made a snow man and Lexi named him snowey.

A few days ago Hailey took a spill off our couch, today we found out that poor Hailey fractured her tibia and her fibula is at a 30 degree angle. She will get a cast and have to wear it until November 15. On a happier note I hosted my first bunco group tonight and it was a fun night.

Tonging we celebrated Justin’s cousin Jared’s  wedding, they had a fun Halloween themed wedding and it was beautiful. So happy for the cute couple!

Today I hosted a baby shower for a friend of mine, she is one cute momma so excited for her to have a little girl!

Today was Lexi’s class field trip to the pumpkin patch! We took a tractor ride, got lost in a maze (briefly) ate pumpkin cookies and picked out a cute pumpkin! I’ve been loving assisting this class this year!

Today was the final day of the open house tours before the dedication, thankfully Brady was able to make it, we had a great time just he and I.

Lexi had her first primary program today at our church! It was so cute watching and listening to her song her heart out! She bravely got up on stage and said “my name is Lexi, and I am a child of God!” My heart was melted! Love this sweet girl! 

10.27.21 It’s Halloween week and we started the celebrations off with a fun play group party! Our friend graciously hosted and provided a cute mini caramel apple bar. The kids wore costumes and another one of our friends brought the game  bingo, the kids enjoyed laughing and playing together! Later that night we pained our pumpkins and ate pizza!

We had our class Halloween party today! Lexi had been counting down the days until her class party!The kids wore their costumes and we so excited for all the fun they could hardly wait for our class moms to arrive! Lexi dresses up as Minnie Mouse, and I was Daisy Duck! We had so much fun playing games and making a monster craft!

We had our friend Halloween party tonight and it was so fun catching up with all the friends we don’t see as often as we’d like! The kids had a blast running and playing in the gym and the parents (minus Justin) had fun chatting! We of course had delicious food too!

Tonight we celebrated Halloween because it falls on a Sunday this year. We went to Lexi’s gymnastics Halloween trunk or treat, the mall for some trick or treating and to our family Halloween party that night! There was so much delicious food, awesome costumes and the best company ever! Lexi had so much fun trick or treating, she was such a trooper and went out 3 times with her dad and cousins!

Happy Halloween! Today we went to our 2nd cousins mission home coming and luncheon. Later that night we did our annual spooky dinner for our little family. This has been such a fun month, sure love the holidays making memories! 

Lexi Anne: First Day of Preschool Year 2

Lexi! Today you started your last first day of Preschool! You aware so lucky to have the same Preschool teacher as last year, Mrs Karissa. The difference from last year to this year is not only how much more you know but I am your class teacher assistant! I was so thrilled when Mrs Karissa asked me to help out this year. I have loved seeing how much you’ve learned and grown from last year, and this year I get a front row seat! I asked you what you were most excited about for school this year and you said “playing with the toys and doing art!” 

Prior to school starting we did a family back to school shopping trip, your dad and I had so much fun spending that one on one time with you helping you find some new clothes. We also had our annual back to school family dinner. This year I picked the theme “I Can Do Hard Things.” Lately you’ve become more and more cautious to things that seem hard and I wanted you to know that you really can do hard things. We ate chicken nuggets, fries and corn on the cob for dinner and I decorated the table and found some fun activities to challenge you. Later that night your dad gave you a wonderful fathers blessing! I can’t wait to not only see first had all the things you’ll learn this year but watch you in your element! Sure do love you sweet girl! Here’s to a great last year of Preschool! 

Hailey Jane: One Year!

ONE YEAR! How in the world are you already a whole year old? As cliche as this sounds it feels just like yesterday that I was in labor with you. What a year for our family, we moved into a new house, new ward and survived a world wide pandemic. You’re for sure the best thing that happened over 2020.

 This month we celebrated your first 4th of July and grandma, your cousin Dillon and aunt Hillary’s birthdays. Both February and July are crazy birthday months for our family. 

Over the fourth we went to our towns parade and had a family BBQ at uncle Dan’s house. Since you were so little I didn’t keep you up for fireworks but your dad and Lexi watched them with his family, I can’t wait to take you next year! 

We have been having such a fun summer with family visits, cousin time, swimming pool trips and the free lunches at the park! 

For your birthday I decided to go with the theme “One in a Melon.” And it turned out just as cute as I hoped it would! The best part was I made my very first smash cake and it wasn’t a complete failure! (Wahoo) We had a big family BBQ with your grandpa and grandma Almond, aunt Hillary and uncle Matt’s family and some of our extended family on dads side.  I made a fun watermelon piñata for the kids and we ate yummy food! 

To say you loved your cake is an understatement, haha! Your feet were kicking the whole time and you kept taking fist fulls of it as fast as you could! I was so happy with how your big day turned out!  

We had your one year check up the day after your birthday and your doctor was very happy with your growth and development! You weigh 18 pounds and are a little over 27 inches. You’re finally able to crawl off your belly, but you still army crawl here and there. You’ve learned how to sit up and pull yourself up to things, with that have come a few bumps but overall you’re pretty cautious. Whenever I am loading the dishwasher you love to come “help” haha. You love playing with Lexi and if she is in her room you crawl as fast as you can to join in on her fun! You love to talk and we love hearing you and Lexi play! 

You still wear size 3 diapers and I have moved you to 12 month clothes, occasionally you wear some 9 month outfits but mostly 12 month. We had to lower your crib since you like to stand up more and more now! 

Hailey Jane you’re such a joy we love having you in our family! We still get so much attention when we’re out but you and Lexi are two little cuties so I don’t blame them for their attention! Happy Birthday sweet girl! 

Hailey Jane: 11 Months

Hailey Jane, it’s so hard to believe that you’re eleven months already! They say time is a thief and man they aren’t lying, these months just seem to keep flying by. 

What a fun beginning to summer we’ve had! Where we live the schools offer free lunches for kids at a few local parks, so naturally I have been taking you and Lexi practically every day. It’s a good way to get some of your sisters energy out and for all of us to get outdoors to see and play with some friends each day, so it’s a win win! 

We’ve been to our local splash pad here a handful of times, went to the zoo with your dad, did half price family night at our local pool and have had so many BBQ’s I’ve lost count! We celebrated your daddy this month for Fathers Day and had our Almond family reunion in Island Park. You rode on a boat for the first time but the life jacket was definitely not a favorite of yours! Haha 

You are still our petite little girl still wearing size 3 diapers 9 month and a few 12 month clothes but we aren’t sure what you weigh right now. I know you’re gaining because you’re getting heavier to hold ha! You still get A LOT of attention wherever we go, it’s that darn cute red hair and toothy grin that gets them every time! You have 2 bottom teeth 1 top tooth and are working on cutting the second top tooth. You still love your solids, I joke with family and friends that I could stop nursing and you wouldn’t care…which is probably more true than I think. You’ve been loving the food at the lunch at the parks mostly PB&J’s but you’ve also tried the chicken sandwich, double cheeseburger and nuggets there and have seemed to enjoy those. 

You’re still army crawling, but after our family reunion I have seen you get up on your knees and rock back and forth a few times so we’re getting there. I bet you’ll be full on crawling here in the next week or so. You still sleep 2 naps a day and all night which is AMAZING!! You’ve become more vocal with some growls, more babble and you’ve said mum a few times so I’ll take it. But mostly you say dada and laugh when we try to get you to repeat “mom.” You’ve also started to wave occasionally and it’s pretty darn cute as well! 

We sure love you Hailey bug, you’re such a sweet addition to our little family and I am so grateful I get to be your mom! 

Hailey Jane: 10 Months

Sweet Hailey I can’t believe we’re two months away from you being ONE! We sure love our smiley blue eyed red head! You get a lot of attention wherever we go and people always ask us where the hair comes from.  

This month has brought on new things, you are now army crawling/rolling to get where you want to go. Sometimes you will start on your knees bit for the most part you pull yourself with your arms and kick your feet. It is pretty stinking cute! You still just have your two bottom teeth but I think you’re working on getting the top ones. 

You LOVE food and just like big sister you make it known with your sounds while eating. It’s secretly my favorite thing. This month you have loved trying PB&J sandwiches, quesadillas, fruit cups, cheese sticks and popsicles! You have also mastered drinking from your sippy cup without my assistance, it’s also so dang cute! You tip your whole head back and drink, haha! 

We are so excited to spend your first summer in our finished backyard!! I have so many fun things I can’t wait to do and of course I’ve already got your first birthday pretty much fully planned! (I plan way in advance but I love it) Let the summer fun begin! (Once we get warmer weather of course)
