Lexi Anne: 2 Years Old!

February 16, 2019

Where did my baby go? I can not believe you are 2 years old today little one! You have grown up so much in the last 6 months its hard to think of you as a toddler and not our baby. Of course you will always be our baby but now you're a little girl, we sure enjoy watching you learn and grow daily.

You are in a Frozen stage, you love this movie so much. You love to dance and sing along with all the music and if we aren't watching it you are listening to the sound track. You also got into the Wiggles, your friend Parker introduced them and you love their music too. We have started to slowly introduce Disney, Pixar, and other animated movies and TV shows, I like to have a movie night once a week with just you, your dad and I. So far you have loved Sesame Street, Frozen (of course), Tangled, Monster's Inc. and Big Hero 6. You got a kitchen set from Christmas and you love to play pretend, its so cute watching you play. Grandma and Grandpa Pope got you your first baby doll for Christmas and we bought you a doll stroller. You are going to make a great mother one day! We still enjoy our weekly play group, you have made so many friends and you love to have play dates and go to the Library's music and movement class. I guess I need to enroll you into a dance class because you love to dance.

We had your 2 year old check up and you are growing and developing perfectly, you are still our tiny girl though. Weighing in at 25 lbs. and 32 inches tall (2ft. 8in.). Your Doctor seemed very pleased with your learning and didn't have any concerns for your height and weight. Sadly you had to get one shot but the good news is you're all done with shots until Kindergarten, yay!! Although let's hope that doesn't come as quickly as your 2nd Birthday did. :(

This year I decided that since this could be our last year in Pocatello that we needed to have a Birthday party with all your cute friends. So because you like to watch Elmo I thought a Sesame Street party would be perfect for you! I got to work looking for easy do it yourself party decorations on Pinterest, and boy did it not fail me. I was so happy with the way your party turned out. We invited all your friends and their parents to come on your actual Birthday. We were lucky enough to reserve part of our Church buildings gym to do your party in. We had cupcakes, punch and water for refreshments. Played pin the nose on Elmo, had a dance party (of course) and a coloring station. You got so spoiled with some awesome gifts from all your friends, you are sure one loved little girl!

I asked you how old you were, you are still working on getting 2 fingers up. :)

Your dad and I got you your own scooter, you were so excited!

After your Birthday party we drove down to Utah to see Dads siblings, Grandpa and Grandma Pope and my siblings for the week. We started over at aunt Kristin and uncle Arties where we celebrated your birthday, Caleb's birthday and Teagan's birthday with left over cupcakes and ice cream. We stayed with them until Monday morning. On Sunday (2/17/19) we celebrated your birthday with my family. Grandma made her famous German Chocolate cake and you got spoiled with more gifts from grandparents, aunts and uncles! Daddy had to go back home for school but you and I spent the rest of the week with Grandpa Grandma Pope. We helped aunt Emily find the perfect wedding dress, watched movies and ate junk food. Mommy got to support aunt Emily in her "American in Paris" show at the Hale Theater, while you were able to play over at aunt Kristin's. We had such a great time with them.

Lexi we sure have enjoyed these last 2 years with you, I still can't believe it's gone this fast but I look forward to many more fun Birthdays, family vacations and memories with you and our little family! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lexi Girl!
