January was filled with lots of snow and cold weather, so we spent most of the time indoors. A few of my favorite highlights from this month were going to the Lava Hot Springs indoor pool for Lexi's first time, our Pope family Christmas and I got to see my baby sister get proposed to in Utah!
February was a little more eventful than January. :) We had a big super bowl party with some of our amazing friends, took Lexi and our play group to Geronimo's for our valentine's party, celebrated Valentine's day with my two loves and Lexi turned 2! We had a Sesame Street themed birthday party for her here and then celebrated with my family in Utah at my parents house. While we were visiting Utah I saw my sister in her show"An American in Paris"and helped her pick out her beautiful Wedding Dress!!
March Our weather finally started warming up so we could spend some afternoons out in the sun. Granted it was no 80 degrees but it was better than 20 or lower. We went with some friends to our local petting zoo, another jump place called Jump In with blow up bouncy houses and celebrated St. Patrick's day by eating a big bowl of Lucky Charms.
April We went to Utah for Emily's bridal shower that I hosted, we did a Travel theme and it was so cute! Justin's parents retired and moved to Blackfoot so we had Caleb and Dillon over while Kristin and Artie helped them move some things in. We celebrated Easter with a couple of fun Easter Egg hunts and Lexi was so excited about her basket this year. But the most exciting part of this month was taking Justin's graduation photos!!
May Graduation, Graduation oh did I mention GRADUATION?!! Yes that is right Justin finally graduated Pharmacy School! Justin worked so hard and truly did an amazing job throughout those 4 long years! After his ceremony Justin's parents attended his uncle's funeral in Preston, while we went with my parents, Emily and Logan to lunch at Chili's. After lunch we went back to our place to relax and change before they had to head back home to Utah. Once his family was back from the funeral services we did dinner with his family and played some games.
Later that month Emily and Logan were married in the Payson Utah temple, it was a cooler day than we anticipated but beautiful non the less! I still can't believe that my baby sister in Married! Logan has been a wonderful addition to our family and we couldn't be happier for them both!
June summer has finally arrived! We spent most of our day outdoors either in our backyard playing, at our local splash pad or pool! Lexi loved this summer she had so much fun doing Lunch at the park and anything really that was outside. We celebrated Justin for passing his board exams and Father's day too, we are so lucky to have him!
July More summer and outdoor playing! We had our annual Ruth family 4th of July BBQ and fireworks, we also went to see the local firework show, it was pretty good this year. We spent a couple days with some friends at our aquatic center and enjoyed free lunches at the park and more play group fun!
August we spent some time over at Lexi's favorite place Uncle Matt's house! We played in the sprinklers and slip n slide with their younger boys. Justin, Matt and his dad went to Boise to see the Night Fire Nationals while the girls stayed with the kiddos. Later that month we went to Utah for our Pope family reunion. We rented an air bnb and played games, went to their local pool and ate a lot of yummy food!
September for Labor Day weekend we went to Rigby Lake with Matt's family and enjoyed the last of the summer heat. Lexi started her first dance class this month and has loved it! Justin and I took a much needed vacation just the 2 of us thanks to his parents for taking our sweet girl! We went to Craters of the Moon and stayed a couple of days out by Sun Valley it was a lot of fun! I turned 31 this month and was spoiled by my amazing family and friends!
October We finally got some Fall weather which is one of my very favorite seasons! We did our annual trip to the pumpkin patch with Aunt Dorothy and cousin Mariah. Justin went to Colorado with some buddies for an NFL game and Lexi and I spent that weekend with his Brothers family! Before he left we did a family outing to the Red Barn corn maze and pumpkin patch. We rode their little train, played in corn pits, slid down their slides and jumped on puffy pillows. Did I mention I love Fall? We took family pictures this month and they turned out so cute! For Halloween this year we dressed up as characters from the Movie Wreck it Ralph 2, Lexi was Vanellope Von Schweetz, Justin was Ralph and I was Shank.
November We had two fun visitors! Logan and Emily spent a weekend with us. We went on a double date to Lava Hot Springs, enjoyed a Christmas movie together and and we made an early Thanksgiving dinner together. Justin turned 31 and we celebrated his day by seeing Frozen 2 as a family, such a sweet dad to take his girls to see this on his special day! Thanksgiving was really late this year, it wasn't until the 28th so it almost felt like we skipped over it haha. Justin had to work at the hospital but Lexi and I went to his grandmas to enjoy turkey dinner with the whole Ruth side of the family!
December This month flew by just as fast as the year did, we did so many fun family things but Justin was also very busy with work (which is good). We took Lexi to see the lights around our town, watched lots and lots of Christmas movies, played in the snow and made a tiny snowman. His parents town put on a live Nativity so we went on a sleigh ride with them to see it. For Christmas Eve we had our annual Ruth family Christmas Eve party, we did our own live nativity with all the kids and this year Lexi dressed up as a Wise Man. She was so excited and when she finally got on stage she was so worried about the baby Jesus. She kept saying "mom he's not waking up" it was so funny! Christmas day we opened gifts at our house first, Lexi got spoiled with Toy Story toys (she's really into that show right now), she loves the game Pac Man that was at Costco this year so we found her a miniature hand held game of it, she got some clothes from Grandpa and Grandma Almond and a book "The Wheels on the Bus" that she loves reading with Cathy. Justin and I got a new mattress this year which has been amazing. Grandpa and Grandma Pope got Lexi a Dr. Kit but she didn't get that until January when we did my families Christmas. Spoiler alert she loves it :) We have had such a wonderful year with our family and friends, we feel so blessed! Hope you all had a wonderful year and Holidays as well!
